Penicuik Oral History ResourceWe have been allocated a grant to carry out an Oral History project in the Penicuik community and would like to hear from people willing to have their memories and reminiscences recorded. Everyone has a valuable tale to tell us: we want to hear about life in Penicuik; work in the mills, the pits and elsewhere; the organisations that flourished in the town; how free time was spent; housing and living conditions; family life; schooldays; war time; customs and festivals and much more. You don't need to be elderly to take part, as a wide age range of informants will show how some things have changed over time and others have remained as they were. Today's events become tomorrow's history so all information is of value. All work will be carried out in accordance with the ethical guidelines of the Oral History Society. If you would like to take part in this exciting project please contact by email at voicesofpenicuik@hotmail.co.uk | ||
