Although Black Hill is a Marilyn, having a drop in all directions of at least 180m before any other hill can be climbed, its summit is relatively flat so offers only distant views. Reaching the summit requires a steep initial climb and a kilometer or more over almost pathless heather.
Black Hill can be climbed on its own, in combination with Bell's Hill or as part of very much longer rounds.
Warning: The information on this page is not sufficient for a safe ascent of this or any other hill and should only be used in combination with an accurate map and outdoor experience.
