Although the lowest of the Pentland tops, and with only 19m drop before the climb up to Mid Hill, Dunsyre Hill is a distinctive sight thanks to the presence of Corbies Craigs on its southern slopes. Its summit is thus a fine point from which to look down on the South Medwin valley and across to the Black Mount (516m). Note that the latter summit is a Marilyn which is not included in the list of Pentland Hills since it is separated from them by the wide, broad valley of the South Medwin and Garvald Burn and its minor road. Unfortunately Corbies Craigs are little more than steep broken rocky ground with no scope for any climbing.
