Set high above West Water Reservoir, King Seat also offers excellent views to the south towards Mendick Hill, the village of West Linton and across the Lyne Valley to the hills north of Peebles.
King Seat can be climbed from the north end of the West Water Reservoir dam, although the ground is rough, tussocky grass. Beyond King Seat, there is easier terrain north towards Byrehope Mount. However, completing a round by continuing further north involves much rough and featureless terrain.
