Mendick Hill 1

Mendick Hill is a shapely and isolated peak on the edge of the Pentlands, separated from the rest of the hills by the Garvald Burn and the West Water. With very steep southeast slopes, there are excellent views over the Lyne Valley towards Wether Law and the other Cloich Hills. There is a route of ascent from the Roman road to the southeast up these steep slopes. From the north and west there is much rough and featureless ground with no approach tracks. Its lower south ridge offers a kilometer's easy walking above the village of Garvald.
