The Monks Rig is a fine, grassy, easy-angled ridge that runs north-south between the village of Nine Mile Burn and the "Kips col" (NT 174604). Half way along is the "Font Stone". This is not, in fact, a font stone, but the base of a now disappeared medieval cross-shaft
